Hide unwanted notification area icons

Notification area is present near the computer clock, When you have too many applications installed , If those applications load in the start-up, notification area becomes cluttered. In windows 7, we can control which icons to be shown in the notification area, and rest of the icons will be hidden. The hidden icons appear once you click on the up arrow in the notification area.

To hide unwanted icons, follow these steps,

– Navigate to control panel, Select : “Notification Area Icons”

– In front of each icon, there will be 3 options ,

– Select “Hide Icon and Notifications”

This will hide the icon from the notification area.. Selecting the “Show only Notification” , will pop-out the icon only when there is a notification / alert for the respective application.
