Send event requests via Gmail

Google calendar is loaded with many features .., you can set / organize events and meetings using Google calendar. Gmail has an interesting option to insert such events in Gmail like the way we send outlook meeting requests. This can be used to send online invitation of the events to the intended recipients.

To use this , just open your Gmail compose page, and click on “Insert:Invitation” you will get the following pop – up

Fill in the event name, etc .. and fill the addresses in the “From” field. The meeting request embedded in the mail automatically gets updated with the attendee’s information. As shown.

Send the mail. All the included people in the From field, would get the event invitation. They will have the option of selecting “Yes” “No” or “May be” , the selected option directly gets updated in your Google Calendar.
